Big, bright and bold is the best way to describe Pat's technicolor tribute to the animal kingdom. Pat uses the technique of watercolor glazing (a series of tinted water brushed over layer after layer to build up color) to bring out the vibrant colors and finishes the work with color pens to give it detail. Drawn increasingly to his innate love of patterns, and the influence of M.C. Escher, Pat weaves these influences together to give him an imaginative approach to his favorite of all subject matters: animals.
